Our Story
We are Matt and Savannah Mackie, and have been married for 6 years and have two amazing boys, Denver and Everett.
Matt is from Cape Town, South Africa and Savannah from Van Buren, Arkansas, USA. We met in the mission field in Zambia in 2013 and were married a few years later. We have been missionaries with The Zambia Project for over a decade. Zambia has our hearts, and we feel so privileged to have lived and loved this country for so many years.
We are so excited for this new adventure that God has called us to. He has filled us with a passion and a vision to reach beyond our Hope Family in Zambia and move across the world to Northwest Arkansas. As we saw God fully transform lives and communities in Zambia, we have moved over to the US with the same hope and expectation; to see lives changed and cities transformed through the love of God.
Although we were content to live in remote locations in Africa for the rest of our lives, we felt the need to take this step of obedience and launch Hope Family Church NWA. Our time in Zambia drove us to rely on God for the most basic of necessities. Not only did God overwhelm us with His provision and protection, but He showed us how ordinary people can be used to change the world around them.
We are here to be a church that is radically generous, missional minded, and known by their love for others; to see lives transformed and communities changed by the love of God. He is doing it, and we are so excited to be a part of it!
