We Are Hope Family Church NWA

We exist to build a diverse church, that helps people to know God, live in community and make a difference. We are passionate about reaching people with the gospel of hope.

Hope Family Church is a local church in Northwest Arkansas and part of the global Hope Family movement- a family of churches across the world united by a passion to see people encounter Jesus and live transformed lives.

At our heart, we believe church is more than a service you attend- it's a family you belong to. We are a multi-generational and diverse community where people from every background can know God, build meaningful relationships, and make a difference in the world around them.

Everything we do is centered on Jesus and His mission. From passionate worship and biblical teaching to serving our city, investing in the next generation, supporting families, and partnering with missions around the world, we exist to bring hope to people and help them take their next step in following Him.

As part of the global Hope Family, we carry a vision of seeing healthy, life-giving churches planted and strengthened around the world. Whether across the street or across the globe, we believe every person matters to God and has a place in His story. We love Northwest Arkansas and believe God is doing something special here. Our prayer is that Hope Family Church would be a place where you feel known, valued, and encouraged- and where together, we can help more people experience the life-changing hope of Jesus.

Our Pastors

Matt & Sav

We are Matt and Savannah Mackie, and we have three amazing boys who keep life full of adventure, laughter and just a little bit of chaos! Matt is from Cape Town, South Africa and Savannah from Van Buren, Arkansas, USA. We met while serving on the mission field in Zambia in 2013 and were married a few years later. For more than a decade, we served as missionaries with The Zambia Project and Hope Family Church in Mongu, Zambia, helping reach the Lozi people with the hope of Jesus. Zambia became our home, and we count it as one of the greatest privileges of our lives to have lived, loved, and served there for so many years.

In 2022, God started stirring our hearts, and the hearts of our leaders, towards something new for our family- a vision to plant a Hope Family Church in Northwest Arkansas. We carried a vision for a church that would be mission-minded, deeply rooted in loving people, and passionate about sharing the hope of Jesus both locally and around the world.

Just as we saw God transform lives and communities in Western Zambia, we stepped out in faith and moved our family from rural Zambia to Northwest Arkansas with that same hope and expectation- to see God transform lives and this community through his immeasurable love. We believe God is still changing lives, restoring families, and building His Church, and we are honored to be part of what He is doing here.

We love Northwest Arkansas and the incredible community that is growing here. Jesus is building His Church, and it is a privilege to serve alongside so many people as we help others know God, live in community, and make a difference. So Others May Live!

Our Beliefs

The Bible

We believe the entire Bible is inspired by God, without error and the authority on which we base our faith, conduct and doctrine.

The Trinity

We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to this earth as Saviour of the world. The Holy Spirit leads and guides us into all truth and empowers us for effective ministry.

Salvation

We believe Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for our sins. We believe that salvation is found by placing our faith in what Jesus did for us on the cross. We believe Jesus rose from the dead and is coming again.

Water Baptism

We believe water baptism is a symbol of the cleansing power of the blood of Christ and a testimony to our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Communion

We believe in the regular taking of Communion as an act of remembering what the Lord Jesus did for us on the cross.

Growing Relationship

We believe every believer should be in a growing relationship with Jesus by obeying God’s Word, yielding to the Holy Spirit and being conformed to the image of Christ.
